I have spent many hours trying new techniques and researching what types of books I would like to create. Samples have been made and sent to people around our Island and I have taken on board the comments from everyone to produce this finished product. However, I am still finding how I can improve the product. Without these lovely people who have become friends I would not today have a finished product.
My first book was as you would describe a clag and stick book! Oh dear, Well, there was plenty room for improvement.
I started with just plain drawing paper inside and gradually I now do a range of A5 spiral bound books. I have also a range of A6 plain paper spiral books.
The two photographs are of an address book. I have designed the inside part of the address book myself. It comprises of:
- Fabric outer cover.
- Matching inside.
- Approx 50 pages
- Index, right side of page,
- Hand foiled.
- Pages to write notes.
At a recent course I attend a person commented about how silly it was to have an address book when you can record the information on your computer or mobile. Through my own experience of losing all information I explained my story.
Mainly because I kept all contacts, email and special dates on my mobile phone. Cutting a long story short my mobile phone stopped working . Yes it was sent away to be mended but all data was lost. The moral of my story is save the information on your phone, write the telephone numbers, emails and important contacts in a book. Then you have the information twice.
